Not much news to catch up on - another local player has shipped off to basic, but with loss comes growth as we had 4 new players out last weekend bringing our player base up to about 30+ players.
Also, rumor has it (as it's not confirmed) that the 11th Airborne team "Easy Co" has disbanded. Hopefully those players will decide to come out and have a good time with us and deal some plastic death.

HERE is a link to a recovery game video I took and edited (I set the music volume way too high, sorry) It was pretty one sided as a video, but it's pimping the team, so I don't care *smile* Enjoy!

I created another background for download. I also 'removed the team picture because we need another full team photo. Members have moved on or diappeared with no word so I decide that a new picture is neccessary.
We are still recruiting. Check the 'Contact Us' link for more information on how to join if you are interested

It's been a while since there was an update, so I thought there should be one.
On the 26th, Variable is hosting a 24 hour scenario game involving 2 sides with a twist: A Sniper side and a Recon side - but while the 2 sides are there, they aren't supposed to work with one another; and neither are the snipers. More can be read about it on Airsoft Pacific.com under "Recon Field Exercise".

Word has it that ShadowFox has disbanded, which is somewhat sad news. It was fun trading plastic with these guys, and they were a kick to hang out with. Hopefully we'll see them still coming out to play.

I also want to extend thanks to my team members for being hardcore and still coming out when they are able. You guys make the game a lot more fun and it's awesome how we dominate when we are in force.

Most of the remaining team went to Mollala for the second installment of Grid:18 and we had alot of fun. The camping the night before sucked due to drunken fools screaming all night, but the day of the game kicked ass. We all got plenty of kills, got lit up and were all smiling at the end of the day. Pics of the game will be up soon at AirsoftPacific.com

Well, team members seem to be dropping off the radar at a tremendous rate. With unemployment so high, folks are trying to find jobs and buckle down on spending - and with airsoft being essentially a "luxury" sport, we're losing more members than is satisfactory. We are recruiting to bring our numbers back up, so if you are interested in the game but want to be something a 'little different', shoot us an e-mail.

It seems the game with the other teams went extremel well! Everyone was courteous and the comeraderie was awesome. There was some ribbing by players to each other but it was all in good fun. I heard 2 people say that the games held on Sunday were better than any game that they had played at Mollala. There were some grumblings by folks, but it happens every game - I certainly hope we have more games like this very soon!

Members of other local teams; Shadowfox and Easy Company, are supposed to be coming out to the field this weekend. It's beginning to look like the local airsoft community is finally beginning to gel again.
Hopefully this means that we can all start playing as a group again and have some new blood and challenges to compete against. This 'fractured group' thing is annoying...

The local field is having a build day this Saturday, the 18th. If you want to come out and help, bring yourself and a hammer - and prepare for physical labor to be involved.
Hopefully this thing will come together soon.

The Rota is losing yet another member - Shawn, 'Ace', is going into the military and is leaving for basic training today. Good luck Shawn, and have a good time *grin*. We're down to 11 members now, so we might begin attempting to recuit more players onto the team.

We are the 172ya Rota

(And we need a new team picture)

We now have backgrounds available!
Several members have shown interest on how they can pimp our team at home and on their laptops, so I decided to make a couple of backgrounds to help out.

The RPG is growing in goodies - I picked up 2 Chinese Type 69 RPG-7 sights and as soon as I figure out a rail to mount one with, it's going onto the beast. I also gutted the battery compartment and the light that illuminates the reticle for low light firing, and replaced it with a 7000mcd 3 volt LED, that lights the reticle up nicely now. Not bad for a 5 dollar retrofit. Unfortunately, the Chinese type RPG sights require a special cut rail not found in stores like Kalinka Optics. Looks like I have to get crafty and see what I can cook up to make this thing fit an AK rail. Time to get some more grinding/cutting wheels for my Dremel I suppose.
